Occurrence of hyaluronidase inhibitors in fractions of electrophoretically separated serum.
An inhibitor to the action of hyaluronidase obtained from bovine testis has recently been described in human sera, and has been found to be associated with electrophoretically separated albumin (1). Another inhibitor of hyaluronidase has been described recently which inhibits streptococcal hyaluronidase and which gives evidence of being a true neutralizing antibody (24). Because of differences ...
متن کاملAntiplasmin activity of electrophoretically separated human serum fractions.
The antiplasmin which migrates electrophoretically with the alpha(2) globulins preponderates in effect over that of the alpha(1) migrating antiplasmin. This preponderance persists at physiological pH value in vitro and the significance of this finding is discussed. No evidence has been obtained of the existence of anti-urokinase activity in antiplasmin-free serum fractions.
متن کاملReproducible high yield sequencing of proteins electrophoretically separated and transferred to an inert support.
A method allowing initial sequencing yields of 60-85% to be consistently obtained from samples prepared by sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and electrophoretic transfer is described in detail. Conducting electrophoresis at a pH near neutrality is the single most important of the modifications made to earlier procedures, but pre-electrophoresis in the presence of glutath...
متن کاملFlocculation tests in hydatid disease.
A new serological technique of diagnosing human hydatid disease, employing polystyrene latex particles coated with hydatid cyst fluid, and a modified technique using bentonite particles are described. Comparison of the latex test with the complement-fixation test performed on 102 sera has shown a total agreement of 98% and an agreement of 93.1% in the positive specimens. The bentonite test and ...
متن کاملQuantitative analysis of serum proteins separated by capillary electrophoresis.
The possibility of open tubular capillary electrophoresis for clinical diagnostic use is examined. Capillary electrophoresis was performed in an untreated 50 microns (i.d.) x 100 cm (65 cm to detector) capillary with detection of absorbance at 200 nm. Conditions for the separation of serum proteins without adsorption to the capillary surface were established. Quantitative analyses of serum samp...
